Education is undoubtedly one of the most powerful levers to propel the development of a society, by providing it with balance, stability and sustainability. A quality education system is not limited to the simple transmission of knowledge: it forges individuals capable of fighting poverty, social inequalities, and building a solid, sustainable and prosperous economy. In this, education is the foundation on which a civil nation, strong and open to the future is built.
For centuries, the Kabylians have always recognized the value of education, knowledge and know-how. Without going back too far in history, we note that for our ancestors, a successful education was measured by discipline, respect and the transmission of the values essential to social cohesion. In Kabylia, learning takes several forms: the first source remains the family and the immediate entourage, especially the village, followed by the formal school (Aghervaz) and practical learning within the community.
Although our mother tongue was repressed and ignored by the colonial authorities, the Kabylians always encouraged their children to seek knowledge, even when it had to be done in an imposed language. This phenomenon is visible daily in Kabylia society. Despite the mediocre Algerian school system, Kabylian children surpass their peers in many regions of Algeria, thus proving the importance of the transmission of education in our communities.
The Kabylians’ enthusiasm for education and knowledge is a key factor in establishing a successful education system in Kabylia. Indeed, when education is strengthened, the positive effects are felt in all sectors: health, economy, culture and governance. A successful school thus generates the success and prosperity of society as a whole.
Education has the power to change the world, open the doors of the future and turn dreams into reality. A quality education, received from an early age, benefits not only the individual, but also the whole society and beyond. It makes it possible to build bridges to a better world, in which individuals are better prepared to meet the challenges of the future.
A free and sovereign country must have its own educational system, in line with its values, culture and objectives. Each nation on Earth designs its educational system according to its socio-cultural, political and economic orientations. Education is not a simple tool, but a fundamental pillar of a people’s sovereignty. A people cannot claim to be free as long as it undergoes an educational system imposed by a foreign power. This observation illustrates the fact that the Kabylian people are currently suffering the hegemony of the Algerian State, which imposes on them a foreign identity, language and culture.
It is unbearable that in Kabylia, children are forced to do all their primary and secondary schooling in a language other than their mother tongue, despite UNESCO’s clear recommendations on this subject. This injustice must stop, and the future of Kabylia requires the reconquest of its educational system, based on respect for its language, culture and identity.
In the perspective of an independent Kabylia, the Kabylian government in exile (Anavad) is actively preparing to set up an educational model that would meet the specific needs of Kabylian society. Education and training will be the pillars of our development. The Kabylian people deserve an educational system adapted to their specificities, which respects their cultural, linguistic and social values. We must offer our children an education that promotes their development, creativity and innovative spirit.
This educational system will be inspired by international best practices, while being deeply rooted in the cultural and social realities of Kabylia. It will integrate innovative teaching methods and advanced technological tools to guarantee quality education, respectful of our values, and conducive to the emergence of a modern, dynamic and competitive society.
Our commitment to education is peaceful, resolute and a carrier of freedom. We affirm that education is one of the priority projects to be implemented, even before the independence of our country. For an educated nation is a nation that is solidly built and moving towards a bright future. Education will shape our identity and serve as an engine for development, creativity and innovation.
Tomorrow’s Kabylian school must not only be a place of academic learning, but also a space to enhance our cultural identity, our language and our values. It will teach our traditions while turning to the future, promoting access to science and technology, and opening our young people to universality. The goal is to prepare future generations to evolve in a globalized world, while remaining true to their roots.
Education is not limited to the younger generations. In a constantly changing society, lifelong learning is becoming essential. The modern world imposes permanent adaptation, and neurogenesis confirms that the human brain continues to develop its intellectual abilities at any age. It is therefore crucial to offer adults and workers the opportunity to continue to learn and develop.
Thus, Kabylia must constantly improve its human capital and educational system. The quality of education must be a constantly evolving priority, oriented towards innovation, excellence and the anticipation of future needs. The Kabylian school must teach children the fundamentals of knowledge, but also prepare them to understand, reason and innovate. It is essential to help them adapt to change, to understand technological and social developments, so that they can find their place in a constantly changing world.
The Kabylian State, within the framework of its sovereignty, will have to guarantee the conditions for optimal development for each child. The objective is to develop their autonomy, their personality, and to accompany them towards the realization of their potential. Therefore, we form balanced and creative individuals who are respectful of others and ready to contribute to a better and fairer society.
Ultimately, education will be the engine of Kabylia’s development, and its future educational system will be the key to its collective success.
